Please come by the Authors tent in Elmwood Cemetery. We are excited to have four local authors who have one thing in common; they are passionate about Charlotte's history. Tom Hanchett brings to life the community. Landis Wade skillfully intertwines the greatest mystery of Mecklenburg with an abundance of humor, David Erdman is a superhero, saving Charlotte's history one building at a time, and David Aaron Moore pulls back the curtain to reveal the dark side of Charlotte.

Yes, they are welcome at our annual Voices From The Past living history event in April. Elmwood and Pinewood, with its park-like setting, is very popular for dog walkers. However, please be mindful that animal urine deteriorates the tombstones.
Yes, however, as entertaining as our storytelling is, young children may become bored. Please bring your teenagers who have studied North Carolina history.
Good question! Our event is NOT a guided tour. We encourage you to arrive early and enjoy listening to the interesting stories at your own pace. We apologize that we have so many stories to tell that they cannot all be heard in one visit. Our solution: Come back next year!
