Parking and Directions
FREE parking in Historic Elmwood Cemetery. Enter through the 246 N. Cedar Street entrance.
Gate opens at 6:30 pm
Elmwood Cemetery front gate at 700 W 6th Street will be locked.
Handicapped parking is available inside Elmwood Cemetery via it's
back gate entrance at 246 N Cedar Street.
Golf carts are provided by Queen City Rides for handicapped visitors. For more information please email us by October 15th. See "Contact" down below to place your request.
What to expect
Voices From The Past AFTER DARK is a lantern guided tour. It is a living history event unlike any other Halloween experience you've ever been to. AFTER DARK will not have monsters, zombies, or anyone named Freddy who lives on Elm Street.
The stories are not designed to be a family-friendly event. The adult subject is not recommended for children. Buried secrets and lies of the dead will be revealed.
Please be aware that some gravesites we visit require walking on uneven grounds.

What time should I come?
Please arrive 20 minutes before your scheduled tour time. If you arrive late, we will do our best to add you to a later tour. This is not guaranteed.
How does the VIP Midnight Combo work?
Cemeteries are spooky anytime, but we all know "midnight" takes it to a whole different level. The VIP Combo Midnight only applies to the 11:00pm - 12:30am Lantern Guided Tour and will included the Ghost Hunting Experience, plus 3 additioal stories. Buy your tickets soon. This package will sell out fast!
Rain or Shine?
Yes. The City of Charlotte has the last word due to weather and safety concerns that may require the closure of the cemetery. Sorry, no refunds, however we sincerely appreciate your donation.
Is this a family event?
The short answer is NO. Due to the adult subject matter, we recommend that children not attend. With that being said, there is no reduced ticket price for any age.
Dogs are not allowed
We love dogs and welcome them to our Annual Voices From The Past spring event, however since AFTER DARK is a guided tour we felt that there could be safety issues due to the close quarters.
